How I got started in UX & Accessibility

2022 – Studying UX Design
As a Visual Designer, I have always loved creating work to help others whether it’s logos, branding, or storyboards…you name it! I love to create! But I began exploring UX design and became super passionate.

Luckily, the company I work for helped fund my journey in UX, and I enrolled in a UX course launcher with Harness Projects.

2023 – Neurodiversity & Accessibility
While studying UX Design and Research, I was diagnosed with AuDHD.

At the same time, my UX project was based on helping students with disabilities. Through my research, I discovered that over 96% of websites are not accessible to people with disabilities.

I began exploring what it means to be Neurodivergent, and how to be a better Accessibility Advocate through my UX design work.

2024 – Studying WCAG Accessibility Guidelines
I furthered my studies with a WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Guidelines for UX designers and am continuing to grow as a Product Designer specialising in Accessibility.

Accessibility is better design for all!
